Henrik Kniberg, author of the “Scrum and XP from the Trenches”, gave the opening keynote at the Agile Tour Bangkok conference on Saturday 21 November in Thailand.
His talk was titled “Real-life Agile Scaling” and includes some great insights into scaling Scrum.
Especially interesting is his take on Minimum Viable Product (MVP) which he believes is better viewed as a series of steps:
- Earliest Testable Produce
- Earliest Usable Product
- Earliest Lovable Product
This reminds me of a colleague who is building a start-up in San Francisco and is specifically not interested in MVP because he doesn’t believe that MVP gives them enough competitive advantage. Obviously this goes right against the grain of the lean start-up movement, which I think makes the topic good food-for-thought.
